Professional Sector Seminars

Introduction

Caring Sharing & Company Ltd, supports solicitors, accountants and independent financial advisors in raising client awareness of long-term care planning. We offer a 20-30 minute presentation providing a thought-provoking "reality check", putting care planning into perspective for both the elderly and their families, helping them come to terms with this highly sensitive concern.

The presentation gives an insight into the practicalities of caring for a physically or mentally frail elderly person. Our role is to offer a professional perspective for those who wish to consider care planning either for themselves or for elderly parents or relatives.

Objectives

To encourage the audience to consider the independence issues associated with growing old and raise questions which they may need to consider sooner or later. The presentation covers the following:

In outlining possible future scenarios, we aim to inform the audience and introduce other professional services as part of a broad mix to be considered as part of care planning, e.g. wills, enduring power of attorney, inheritance tax planning, care fees, life-style choices.

Target Audience

Invited delegates from the existing client base of one or more of the professional services being featured, e.g.:

Suggested format of the Seminars

Each seminar could last 2-3 hours. After Caring Sharing & Company’s 30-minute presentation outlining the questions to be considered, the professional(s) hosting the session will follow on with their own presentations of the services they offer to address these issues.

Given the target audience’s varying availability and time constraints, experience has shown that it is best to run three seminars over the course of one day and to repeat the series 2-3 times a year. So for example, the elderly or those already caring for a family member may find it easiest to attend a morning session, from 11.30am to 1.30pm or in the afternoon from 3pm to 5pm, while the last seminar from 6.30 to 8.30pm is better suited to young professionals.
